How are Lilyan James handbags made?

Each piece, individually crafted by hand, is made in the United States using heritage leather working principles and artisan craftsmanship.

What is Lilyan James’s process?

Lilyan James's vision is to create casually elegant handbags with minimal hardware that translate into a variety of settings. The tradition of equestrian leatherworking reflected our considered process because of the value placed on durability and design.  

After understanding the environmental and human cost of mass fashion, Lilyan James chooses to produce within the United States.

How can I purchase from Lilyan James?

Orders taken through LilyanJames.com will be processed immediately. Select orders are available by invoice. For wholesale inquiries, please email wholesale@lilyanjames.com.

Orders placed before 3 p.m. on business days begin processing on that day; orders placed after 3 p.m. begin processing on the next day.  

*As each piece is individually crafted, they are received by the customer within 3-4 weeks. For the holidays, a select number of pieces can be ordered for immediate delivery. This is noted on the individual product page.

What if I have a question about my order?

How can I order a gift?

Please place your order through lilyanjames.com and then email hello@lilyanjames.com. A gift note and special packaging can be included with your order.

What is Lilyan James's shipping policy? 

Shipments are sent using U.S. Ground and typically arrive within 3-5 business days.  

Special Deliveries

Rush and express orders are available on select items throughout the holidays. Eligible items are noted on product pages. Next day shipping is available for an additional charge. Within the Nashville area courier service is available. Email hello@lilyanjames.com for more information.  

Does Lilyan James ship to countries other than the United States?

We ship to other countries using UPS Worldwide Expedited service, with delivery within two to five business days. International shipping rates vary by country and range from approximately $35 to $50. Email hello@lilyanjames.com for more information.  

Does Lilyan James accept returns?

We will gladly accept returns of unused items within 15 days of purchase. Customer is responsible for return shipping costs.  Please email hello@lilyanjames.com to start the return process. 

What if I need a repair?  

Lilyan James offers a one-year repairs guarantee for normal wear and tear on all bags. Please direct all inquires to hello@lilyanjames.com.

Should I treat my leather handbag before using?

No. The benefit of viewing handbags through the equestrian process is that they are prepared for carry and offer durability within the leather selection and design. Certain select leathers lighter in nature are sensitive to darkening and spots. This is part of a process that is characteristic to natural leather and will help it age and improve. If you prefer to have your leather bag cleaned, please use a trusted leather cleaner or shoemaker.  To reduce waste, Lilyan James uses all parts of the hide. Slight variations natural to the grain may be found and we consider those a characteristic, beautiful part of the process. 

Do you alter strap lengths?  

All of our straps have been measured for multiple body types and heights. We offer strap alternation on a case-by-case basis. An additional charge is applied. Please email hello@lilyanjames.com for more information.
