Should I treat my leather handbag before using?

No. The benefit of viewing handbags through the equestrian process is that they are prepared for carry and offer durability within the leather selection and design. Certain select leathers lighter in nature are sensitive to darkening and spots. This is part of a process that is characteristic to natural leather and will help it age and improve. If you prefer to have your leather bag cleaned, please use a trusted leather cleaner or shoemaker.  To reduce waste, Lilyan James uses all parts of the hide. Slight variations natural to the grain may be found and we consider those a characteristic, beautiful part of the process that also protect the environment by reducing waste.
